9. Super Shape-shifting - Octopus
If asked to name an uber-tough animal most of us would think of bears, wolves or lions. But bet you didn’t know that the African honey badger is an even tougher hood. The seemingly puny 16 kilogram ball of fur, who even struts hip-hop stylee, will take on anything that gets in the way of his constant quest for food.
He gets his name from tearing down bees’ nests - not to get at the honeycomb but to eat the larvae - without even flinching at the furious stings of the outraged bees. He’s so hard that he’ll even steal food from poisonous snakes and then go back to eat them while being bitten over and over again. Even with what’s enough venom to kill five men coursing through his veins he’ll shrug off as a hangover. Yup. This diminutive dude has just entered the Guinness World Records as the most badass animal on the planet.
