Vertebrae Toilet

10. Vertebrae Toilet

The world’s first vertical bathroom looks like a futuristic Swiss Army knife but its inspiration was the human body. The cervical vertebrae (in your neck) comprises seven vertebrae that connect your spine to your skull. Each vertebrae has a hole through which the vertebral artery passes and the whole kit enables you to rotate your head.

Likewise, this ingenious aluminium bathroom has seven rotating modules (toilet, cistern, shower, basin, two showers and storage) skewered to a column that contains pipes that service each section. The actual toilet is made from stainless steel and comes with two hidden panels in which lurks loo roll and the bog brush. The Vertebrae takes up less than 0.5m2 so it can be stuck in the centre of a room with full 360-degree rotation, and then be locked together when you’ve finished.
