It's like weird Bog standard
3. Toto toilet
Around 70% of Japanese households have a Toto loo in their bathroom. So why is it weird? Well, for starters the heated seat contains a night-light so you can see what you’re doing if there’s a power cut. Not that you’d need to see given it’s virtually hands-free.
Toto’s latest version, the Neorest 550, has put paid to embarrassed screeches for a loo roll with its ‘Integrated Personal Cleansing System’, a series of water jets for cleaning your bits that can be adjusted by pressing a button, and a handy down-under blow dryer. The 550 model also has a built-in catalytic deodorizer that neutralizes stinkage and a ‘marriage-saving’ function that puts down the lid. And where previous models had a device that imitated the flush sound this one includes an SD memory card, with 18 preprogrammed sounds.
