1. Cheese rolling Cooper’s Hill, Gloucester

Competition doesn’t come much more hazardous than the annual cheese rolling held at the end of May on Cooper’s Hill, a 90m slope so steep that you can’t see bits of it from the top. Competitors run and tumble down a 90m hill so steep you can’t bits of it from the top. The surface is very rough too, so it’s practically impossible to remain upright during the chase of a three-kilo Double Gloucester cheese. That’s the main prize with second place getting £10 and third £5. What’s more, there’s tons of injuries, the highest toll in recent years was in 1997 when 33 were crocked. Watch it
