3. Test Tube burger anyone?

Meat grown in a laboratory could be on our plates soon. Vladimir Mironov from the Medical University of South Carolina is one of a handful of scientists around the world who are looking at ways to artificially create meat that looks, smells, and most importantly tastes like the real thing. Currently about a third of the world’s surface is taken up with meat production in one way or another and Mironov and others say this isn’t sustainable. Mironov has so far taken muscle type cells from turkeys and bathed them in various cow-related juices in an attempt to make meat that could be recreated. Doesn’t sound that appetising so far...
