Book: Child of the Hive
Will is a genius teen on his way with his school pals to a special maths award exam in London. The stakes are high, but not as high as everyone expects when Will is suddenly confronted by the police who want to take him into custody. With his friends Alex and Ben, Will goes on the run. Special agents with stun guns are after them and Ben gets poisoned by the tip of an umbrella. What on earth is going on?
This is a thriller which introduces characters and situations which only later make sense; like the girl in the lab who draws pictures and telepathically speaks to Will. She has escaped the Hive, a mysterious group with a collective mind that can take you over as soon as you connect to them. Frightening stuff. The goodies seem just as scary as the bad guys and this will have you page-racing to find out more. It could have done with being a little shorter, but worth checking out.
