Polar Electro RCX3 GPS Grab it all

What does it do? If you’re into any kind of endurance sport and want to better understand how you’re performing when you’re training, this sleek GPS-ready heart-rate monitor from Polar Electro will blow your mind. It features a Training Benefit tool that gives you instant feedback based on training intensity, time and distance after every session. You can also get a load of bolt-on devices such as stride and cycling sensors to record more detailed sport-specific data. And by hooking the device up to your computer, you can see maps of your routes at polarpersonaltrainer.com.

What’s it like to use? It’s slim, light and the buttons are set up in a way that means you barely need to glance at the instructions before taking it out for your first session. It comes with a heart-rate monitor that straps around your chest. Usually these things are pretty uncomfortable or start to slip, but we weren’t aware of the RCX3 during our runs. We also really like that we could share our routes and how we performed on them with our mates. It creates a great sense of competition if you’re going to take on the same routes. And because you end up going harder to try to beat them, you get better at your sport. Hands down the best heart-rate monitoring device we’ve used.
