Annular solar eclipse

| 25 May 2012

On May 20th some lucky people in parts of the world such as North America, Taiwan and Japan were able to witness an annular solar eclipse, where the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun. The result is that the Sun appears as an an annulus, or ring, behind the Moon. It's an amazing sight. Makes you feel kind of small and insignificant though.
